I planning to join a gym soon. Just wanted to know more about body building.
I was wondering how body building helps build muscle? Is it because of the heavy weights or because of the food we eat due to all the workout?

It’s both. We need to lift heavy (below 12 reps) to encourage muscle growth, and we need to eat enough to enable that muscle growth. That includes getting enough protein (1g-1.25g/lb bodyweight).

You can’t do one without the other for results.

Lay on ur back and lift ur legs to a 45 degree angle up and down while keeping u butt and back stuck to the floor. U may wantto hNd on to something so the movement of ur legs does not make ur back raise of the ground. Also place a towel or shir on ur tail bone if u don’t have yoga mate

What are the best workout machines to use to tone your abs?

When I workout I usually do this routine:
-30 min. tredmill
-30 min mix of curls, benchpress, pulldown weights.

At my gym we have 2 different ab machines. On that moves your whole body while crunching and one that just moves your upper half. Which is better?

Do yourself a favor and take a pilates class. Pilates with get your abs toned in NO TIME.

How long should I run for to burn stomach fat?

Question by Bella: How long should I run for to burn stomach fat?
I currently run twice daily, after breakfast and before dinner, each time for about 15-20 minutes. I am looking at burning fat, so how long should I be running for to burn fat, instead of just burning glucose?

Can to much ab exercises lead to lower back pain?

I’ve been doing a lot of ab exercises lately at the gym, and now I’ve got some killer lower back pain. Could to much ab exercise and not enough back exercise be the cause? I feel like a 90 yr old man right now squirming in my chair because it hurts.

Absolutely. In fact, especially with sit ups, you have to be extremely careful. Sit ups can be VERY dangerous for your lower back. Maybe talk to someone at the gym about spotting your ab workout to be sure you’re doing them correctly to avoid injury, or to have them advise on more effective exercises that will be less strenuous.

Im 5ft and 8 in and weight around 145. I want to lose atleast 5-8 lbs of pure body fat. But I’ve heard that when you lose weight you also lose muscle mass and strength? Is this true? So how can I prevent myself from losing the mass of my muscle and strength while losing the fat.

I’m a little chubby and I’ve been wanting to lose weight for the longest. I’ve been exercising a lot recently and I did lose some weight and people noticed but I don’t have muscles. How can I burn fat and get muscles if possible? If not how can I burn fat much more effective.

Well, you can burn fat by going on diets, and exercising, which is probably what your doing. Right? So I suggest Lifting weights, go to the gym if you can and get to it!
